Buying a new home process
Buying a new home should be enjoyable, so we make sure that we are with you every step of the way. We have put together a home buying process information so that you can familiarize yourself with what to expect.
- Conducting land registry searches
- Witnessing sales agreement and answering your legal questions
- Acting on your behalf as a third party protecting your legal and financial interests
- Exchanging contracts to legally completing the sales.
You and your lawyer will receive a draft sales agreement which you will read to ensure that the price, deposit and the deeds are all correct. The final sales agreement is the legally binding version of the sales agreement, which is only signed after you and your lawyer are satisfied that everything is good.
Paying a deposit is the first step. It ensures that the home is yours for days agreed in the sales agreement. Our lawyer will prepare a sales agreement or contract of sale based on our agreement.
Final payments, including all statutory and legal costs paid, we will hand over the keys and your title. You will be the legal owner of your new home. We will hand over your electric and water meter and forward the same to providers.
After we have handed over your home, we will take you through a full home demonstration. This will give you an opportunity to learn how to operate fittings and know where everything is located.
